Extremely quickly, in most cases we can have you airborne within 3hrs from first contact if needs be.
Occasional during winter operations an aircraft will need to be deiced in order to remove snow and ice that may be present on the wings, and also to provide anti icing protection to the wings during taxi and take off. The charterer is liable for the cost of deicing the aircraft and this cost is not included in the charter price, but invoiced after the flight as the cost depends upon the amount of Litre’s of fluid used on the aircraft. During times of bad weather we will constantly monitor the situation during the build up to the flight and can offer advice on the best options in terms of departure times and point of departure such is the flexibility afforded by private aircraft charter.
Cancellation charges may apply should you wish to cancel your trip. These will be clearly stated on Avion’s contracts and terms and conditions.
On all flights we offer a full bar and catering appropriate to the time of day. Dependent upon the size of aircraft, generally from midsize jets upwards, we also offer a cabin hostess to serve and look after the passengers.
We can arrange for pets to fly in the cabin with their owners on most private aircraft, providing the pet has the necessary documentation to travel. UK pet owners can take there pets to many EU/NON EU countries without the need for quarantine. However flying back into the UK, the aircraft must land with the pet into a dedicated pet acceptance airport where they can be checked on arrival. These airports are currently: Blackpool, Cambridge, Doncaster, Leeds Bradford International, London Biggin Hill, London Oxford, London Stansted, London Heathrow and Manchester. Please contact us for further specific details on pet travel.
As a general rule, VAT is chargeable on internal UK flights on light aircraft and small turboprop aircraft. Vat is not applicable on aircraft over 8 Tonnes or on those with more than 10 seats or as soon as one leg of the flight booking exits the UK.
The Italian government brought in a luxury tax upon Business aircraft and helicopters in 2012. This tax on ‘aero-taxi’ will be paid by each passenger for each leg and is equivalent to €100 on legs of less than 1,500km and €200 for legs above 1,500km. The tax is mandatory on all flights to Italy and will be clearly stated on your Avion quote, contract and invoice.
The major differences between private charter and a commercial airline flight are essentially flexibility and privacy. Private charter allows you to chose exactly when to depart and from which airport, offering some airports where commercial airliners do not operate. Most airports offer separate executive terminals and specialist passenger handling which insures a quick, smooth and private transition to the aircraft. Unlike a commercial flight, the private aircraft crew will meet and solely look after your passengers in the privacy of your own cabin for the flight.
The limit on luggage allowance solely rests on the weight limit of the aircraft and dimensions of the luggage hold. Therefore, for example a golfing or ski trip, we can tailor the right aircraft to suit your passenger numbers and baggage needs.
